So Hot Right Now

Lucy Siegle and Tom Mustill are changing the story to save the world

If ever there was a time when we needed some inspiration, it’s now! And coming to your ears next week is a brilliant new podcast by environmental journalist, Lucy Siegle (The Guardian, One Show) and wildlife filmmaker Tom Mustill (Greta Thunberg/#NatureNow & BBC Natural History Unit).

‘So Hot Right Now’ focuses on changing the story to save the world, and to help us do so are some incredible guests including legendary broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, former president of Ireland Mary Robinson, singer and activist Ellie Goulding, UN climate negotiator Christiana Figueres, Native American Veteran and Organiser Krystal Two-Bulls, amongst others.

The conversations will be informal, personal and passionate, and will give listeners the tools to quickly and easily take action.

‘I mean (it’s) incomprehensible that they don’t see the urgency of it. They didn’t see the importance of it 20 years ago. They didn’t. And what is more, it was in the distant future.

The trouble is that right now the climate issue is also seen as being rather in the distant future because we’ve got the (corona)virus to think about, and so what are the papers full of? The virus. Quite right, that’s what I want to know about too, but we have to make sure that this issue, which was coming to the boil, has suddenly been swept off the front pages.

And we’ve got to get it back there.

‘I genuinely thought the activism would jeopardise my job and I believe it has. I lose followers (on social media) every time I post anything about climate change. I lose at least a thousand followers.’
